BIM - BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING

In 2005, we expanded our construction services to include 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) and clash detection management of Architectural, Structural and MEP systems during the construction phase. WSP Mountain teamed with Turner Construction to design and implement a BIM process for the Newseum in Washington DC. By using 3D BIM, clashes were resolved which save expensive field revisions.

Since that time we have worked on many hospital projects that include Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the central plant for Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, CA. Our model of the Philadelphia Children’s Hospital entrance located many clashes in the support system that resulted in redetailing the Italian marble cladding.

Working for Clark Construction, WSP Mountain provided construction BIM services on 1.5 million SF Johns Hopkins New Clinical Building. The hospital requested extensive revisions for entrance enhancements be checked in 3D BIM.

WSP Mountain helped resolve rebar placement problems for Tishman Construction on World Trade Center- Tower One. The creation of the 3D erection model for the roof will verify the challenging construction of the 450 foot antenna with roof MEP equipment.

On Carnegie 57th Street in New York City, a prestigious 74-story hotel and residential building, WSP Mountain is providing 3D BIM management services for the developer during the design phase.
